Legal funding and strategic protection for professional football players

Professional football players may have strong legal claims but still face a practical barrier: the cost and risk of pursuing proceedings before FIFA, CAS or national bodies. In salary disputes, termination cases, disciplinary matters or transfer-related conflicts, this financial risk can prevent players from enforcing their rights.

The Shield Program was developed to support selected professional football players in appropriate legal disputes, where the claim has legal merit and the player requires financial backing to pursue it properly.

Subject to eligibility, case assessment and approval, the program may cover legal fees, procedural costs and related expenses connected to the player’s claim. This allows players to pursue justified claims without carrying the full financial burden of the dispute.

Each case is reviewed individually, taking into account the legal merits, evidence, forum, expected costs, enforceability, strategic risks and the player’s personal circumstances.
