UEFA Appeals Body published two new decisions, upholding a UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body and deciding on an urgent COVID-19-related matter
Several Tottenham Hotspur players tested positive for COVID-19 before a Conference League match and therefore, UEFA had to postpone the game.
UEFA ordered the parties to reschedule the match but no date could be found as Tottenham could not rearrange a national league match. Accordingly, due to the case’s urgency, the chairman of the UEFA CEDB referred the case to the UEFA Appeals Body. Finally, the UEFA Appeals Body decided that Tottenham had forfeited the match.
The UEFA Appeals Body rejected PAOK FC’s appeal, confirming the 3 games ban imposed on PAOK’s player Michailidis Ioannis for assaulting another player (breaching Article 15.1 e of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations).
In addition, the UEFA Appeals Body confirmed the fine imposed on PAOK of EUR 70,000 due to some of its supporters lighting and throwing fireworks (Article 16.2 c) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations).
