The Shield Program: Legal Funding and Support for Professional Football Players
Professional football players may have strong legal claims but still face a practical barrier: the cost and risk of pursuing proceedings before FIFA, CAS or national bodies. In salary disputes, termination cases, disciplinary matters or transfer-related conflicts, this financial burden can prevent players from enforcing their rights.
The Shield Program was developed to support selected professional football players in appropriate legal disputes, where the claim has legal merit and the player requires financial backing to pursue it properly.
Subject to eligibility, case assessment and approval, the program may cover or assist with legal fees, procedural costs and related expenses connected to the player’s claim. This allows players to pursue justified claims without carrying the full financial burden of the dispute.
Each case is reviewed individually, taking into account the legal merits, available evidence, forum, expected costs, enforceability, strategic risks and the player’s personal circumstances.
The program may be relevant to matters involving unpaid salaries, overdue payables, termination disputes, disciplinary issues, exclusion from training, deregistration, abusive conduct, transfer-related disputes or other football employment matters.
The Shield Program is not automatic funding and does not guarantee acceptance of any case. It is intended for appropriate matters where the legal and practical assessment supports the player’s position and where the firm determines that support may be offered.
Professional football players who wish to explore whether their case may be suitable for the Shield Program are invited to contact us with a short summary of the dispute, the relevant contract, key correspondence and any urgent deadlines.
