Sevilla FC has completed the signing of Nigerian striker Akor Adams from Montpellier HSC, with the deal facilitated by our firm. Adams, 24, has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2029, marking an exciting new chapter in his career.
As legal representatives in this transfer, our firm is proud to have played a key role in ensuring a smooth and successful move for Adams to one of Spain’s most prestigious clubs.
Adams arrives in LaLiga after an impressive spell in Ligue 1, where he registered 15 appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists this season. Since his move to Montpellier in August 2023, the striker has made a strong impact, finishing his debut season in France with 10 goals and two assists in 33 matches across all competitions.
Before his time in France, Adams built his reputation in Norwegian football, where he played for Lillestrøm SK and Sogndal IL. After making his move to Europe in 2018 from Jamba Football Academy in Nigeria, he quickly adapted to the professional game, scoring 16 goals in 56 appearances for Sogndal before earning a transfer to the Norwegian top flight. At Lillestrøm SK, Adams further demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess, netting 11 goals in 33 games in his first season. His breakout moment came the following year, when he scored an astonishing 17 goals in just 17 matches, briefly leading the European Golden Shoe standings before securing a move to Montpellier.
On the international stage, Adams has represented Nigeria at the U-20 level, making two appearances at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
Sevilla’s acquisition of Adams underscores their commitment to strengthening the squad with dynamic and proven goal-scorers. His ability to find the net consistently, coupled with his physical presence and attacking versatility, makes him a valuable addition to the Andalusian club’s frontline.
Adams was in attendance at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium for Sevilla’s match against RCD Espanyol, and he will now integrate into the squad as they continue their 2024/25 LaLiga campaign.
