Manor Solomon Transfers from Shakhtar Donetsk to Fulham FC
Nir Inbar Sports Law & Business supported Israeli international winger Manor Solomon in connection with his move from Shakhtar Donetsk to Fulham FC.
The move took place during an exceptional regulatory period in international football. Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, FIFA adopted temporary measures under Annexe 7 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, allowing certain foreign players and coaches contracted to clubs in Ukraine and Russia to suspend their employment contracts in specific circumstances.
Solomon exercised his right to suspend his employment contract with Shakhtar Donetsk for the 2022/23 season and joined Fulham FC in the Premier League.
The firm assisted in the legal and contractual aspects connected to the move, including the review and implementation of the relevant FIFA regulatory framework and the documentation required for the player’s registration and transfer process.
The matter reflects the importance of combining player contract expertise with a clear understanding of FIFA regulations, international transfers, employment suspension mechanisms and the practical realities created by exceptional geopolitical circumstances.
We congratulate Manor and wish him continued success in his international career.
